I wish this book had been around when I was a child as it might have gotten me into gardening, which I’ve always thought of as the preserve of older women. Jackie French is a national living treasure, and she manages to inject joyful humour and love into everything she writes; I chuckled several times while reading this. As well as or even before being known as a best selling author Jackie French was a gardening expert, and this book seems to bring the two worlds together promoting eating your garden, so therefore growing your garden for children.

Every Australian school should own at least one copy of this book.

Jackie French has done it again with this book. This is a great and very informative book that both children and adults alike would enjoy and get good information from – though it is really aimed at children.

Despite my gardening knowledge, I did still pick up some good tips on a few things and hope to get my watermelon to grow in this frosty climate this year from Jackie’s advice.
